Chris Pratt Reacts To Being Cast As Mario, Says "Dreams Come True"

Actor Chris Pratt will voice Mario in the upcoming Super Sports betting site B Sports Mario movie from Minions studio Illumination, and now Pratt has reacted to landing the role said the words “It’s a me, Mario.”

Posting on Instagram, Pratt said he has a special connection to Super Mario Bros. When he was a child living in Lake Stevens, Washington he would play the original arcade game at the laundromat. He rarely had a quarter to play, so he would steal them out of a wishing well.

“The quarter I stole out of the wishing well to play Super Mario Bros. has come true that I get to be the voice of Mario,” Pratt says in the video, acknowledging also that he actually stole someone’s else’s wish and karma will come around to get him.

But for now, “it’s a me, Mario,” Pratt said of landing the role of Mario in the film. Though he said those words in the video, the voice he did is not final. “You’ll have to wait to hear the voice, we’ve been working hard at it,” Pratt said.

“Dreams come true,” the actor said, summing up his thoughts on joining the cast in the lead role.

Pratt’s casting was confirmed on Thursday during the September Nintendo Direct. He’s just one of the big names in the film, which also features Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, and Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong. You can see the full cast so far below.

The Super Mario movie is slated for release in December 2022, so it’s still quite far out from release.
